Why we say "start trying"

Official pages use slightly different words.

None of them gives a worked example. Read together, three days before arrival is the earliest day that fits these sources, and the FAQ is clear that the arrival date itself still counts.

Counting "including the arrival date" strictly could make the window open a day later, so try again the next day if the form refuses your date.

What we couldn't test: the form sits behind a human-verification check, which we didn't try to bypass, so we haven't confirmed which dates its calendar accepts. The form is the final word for your trip.

The situations that trip travellers up

Your flight lands after midnight

Count from the date you land in Thailand, in Thai time. A flight leaving on the 9th that lands at 01:00 on the 10th has an arrival date of the 10th.

Your flight is delayed or rebooked

Update your card before you enter Thailand, or submit a new one. The most recent valid submission is the one that counts. FAQ

You're leaving in a hurry

You can file on arrival day, and the FAQ says kiosks and Wi-Fi are provided. FAQ Embassy guidance still advises filing before you depart Embassy, Kuala Lumpur, and one consulate calls on-arrival help exceptional. Consulate, Hong Kong

You're coming back mid-trip

Each card is good for one entry, so a side trip to a neighbouring country needs a new card for your return. FAQ

You're staying over 90 days

That's a separate duty. The portal reminds foreigners staying longer than 90 days to notify immigration every 90 days. Portal

You'd like a reminder

The system doesn't send any, so set your own for three days before you land. FAQ
